In these terms and conditions where it is stated master class or course, equivalent terms and conditions can also be applied on all Belcanto Academy Finland’s lessons, courses, lectures, concerts and other services.
Registering / sign up
Sign up is due 3 weeks prior to the course. The sign up fee to the course must be paid in full 14 days before the date of the course. Belcanto Academy Finland has the right to refuse an attendee entry, if the course fee is not paid before 14 days of the date of the course. Leaving the sign up fee unpaid is not considered a valid form of cancellation.
Cancellation by the student
The student must inform Belcanto Academy of a cancellation in writing.
The student has the right to cancel the registration 15 days prior to the date of the course for free. Belcanto Academy Finland will refund in full the sign up fee paid and Belcanto Academy Finland’s liability will be limited to the value of the course fees paid. If a student cancels the registration later than this, 100% of the sign up fee will be payable by the registered student.
Cancellation in less than 14 days prior the date of the course is possible with a doctor’s certificate of the students sickness. In this case the student’s payment should firstly be used for a sign up fee of one of Belcanto Academy Finland’s upcoming master classes or other services within a year from the original booking. If the student is unable to attend a course within a year due to a proven work related or other unreasonable cause, the fee can be refunded fully.
If the student doesn’t want to attend another Belcanto Academy Finland’s master class within a year from the cancellation, they can instead nominate a person to attend the course in their place. The change of a booking to a new student will incur free of charge.
Reasons behind the terms
The cancellation terms are defined and reasoned in this form, due to the expenses that will occur to Belcanto Academy Finland if a course is not cancelled well ahead of time. These expenses include for example: teachers’ non-refundable traveling expenses and the rent of the course facilities.
Cancellation by Belcanto Academy Finland
Belcanto Academy Finland has the right to cancel a master class, course or a lesson. The master class will be confirmed 14 days prior to the course. The course will normally be organized, if there are 8-10 paying attendees depending on current course's expenses to Belcanto Academy Finland.
If Belcanto Academy Finland cancels a course, full 100 % of the course fee will be refunded to the student. Belcanto Academy Finland’s liability will be limited to the value of the course fees paid. Please do not book your accommodation or travel tickets before the confirmation.
Payment gateway and refunds
Payments are handled through one of the globally most common gateway, Stripe, which is highly trusted and safe. If the student is not able to pay using a credit / debit card, the sign up fee can be billed to Belcanto Academy Finland's bank account. In this case a billing fee of 10 € will be charged in addition to the sign up fee.
If the student is entitled to a refund of the paid fee, the refund is usually handled within a week by Belcanto Academy Finland. The transaction by Stripe should be seen on the students card or bank account within 5-10 days from Belcanto Academy Finland's request on Stripe’s portal.
